On April 24th the Kings Bridge Landing dedication and official opening occurred. Halifax Town Manager, Carl Espy wants to remind citizens of the rules for using the facility. According to Espy, the landing will be opened every day from dawn to dusk, and boats must be hand launched only. No motorized boats are allowed. Trailers and vehicles are prohibited from backing up to the landing and are to park in designated areas only. Personal floatation devices are required, and for fishing, a freshwater fishing license is required. Espy asks that those visiting the landing do not block boaters using the launch or trespass on private property. No glass is allowed on the site, and cans and plastic bottles must be recycled. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the site, and fires are not permitted. Dogs must be kept on a leash, and pet waste should be picked up and disposed of at the pet station. Everyone is asked to pick up litter when they see it and to encourage others to do so. All litter should be placed in the trash bins. For non-emergencies, the facilities contact can be reached at 434-476-2343 and for emergencies call 911. The facilities location is 1041 Bethel Road in Halifax.
