APRIL IS FAIR HOUSING MONTH

It is illegal to discriminate in residential housing on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, elderliness, familial status, disability, source of funds, sexual orientation, gender identity, or military status. If you believe you have been discriminated against, call 888-551-3247 or TTY VA Relay 7-1-1.

The Town of Halifax will host a community planning and design workshop on February 23 and 24 in the cafeteria of the STEM Academy to develop a master plan for the east side of South Main Street, generally south of Cemetery Street and north of the STEM Academy.  The study area consists of property recently acquired by the Town and offers opportunities for additional infill buildings on vacant land.

Hill Studio planners and designers will work with town officials and other community stakeholders over these two days to understand business market and expansion needs, and identify feasible community development opportunities and linkages.  The goals of the Master Plan are to guide future development and public/private investment in the project area and to recruit new/expanded business investment in downtown Halifax.

Citizens of Halifax and interested individuals and businesses are invited to participate in this workshop to offer insight and comments.  Please come and be a part of this visionary planning effort!  For more information, conatct Carl Espy, Town Manager, at 476-2343.
